The Shadow
"Daddy, where's my binky and my blankie?"
"I think they're up in the bathroom, honey."
I was busy making your lunch so you looked up the stairs and pondered whether you could make the journey up there alone to fetch your beloved B&B.
"Daddy, I think there's a shadow up at the top of the stairs. I think it's a scary shadow."
"OK. I'll go with you. We can see what's making the shadow."
As we marched up the stairs, we could see what was casting the strange shape on the wall. "See, honey? It's just a pair of shoes sitting on the landing."
You were noticeably relieved. After fetching your binky and Blankie-bear you declared: "There's nothing to be afraid of -- it's a friendly shadow!"
