Easter Egg Hunt... Tripleheader!
That is, until we stopped to get gas in the little town of Buffalo, IA on Easter Sunday afternoon.
"Happy Easter!" you told the man behind the counter.
"Happy Easter!" he replied. "Did you do an Easter Egg Hunt?"
"Yes, I did. And I saw the Fox and Elmo." ("The Fox" is what you called Rookie the Raccoon.)
"Wow, sounds like you had a lot of fun. Did you know they're having an Easter Egg Hunt here at the park?"
At that moment, both of us perked up. Oh, really?
"Yep, at the park right down the street," he continued. "Starts at two o'clock."
It was a quarter after one. Perfect timing. We paid for the gas and hustled over to the park.
There was already a crowd of children and parents. The town's fire engine was there, as were all the police cars, and, of course, the mayor.
With a little time before the start of the hunt, you got to play on their very nice playland.
Fortunately, this hunt went much better than Saturday afternoon's. No near-riot. Everyone behaved themselves (I think most of that was owed to the fact that no parents were allowed on the field -- kids only).
I got a nice video of you hunting eggs and will post that in the next few days.
