Happy (Half) Birthday!

Every Fourth of July, Adessa, you know what I think of first? Not Independence Day or fireworks. I think of you and how on exactly three-and-a-half years ago, you came into this world. You're still at the age where half-birthdays are quite significant -- you are no longer "just" three years old. Three-and-a-half is a badge I am quite sure you'll wear proudly. Happy Birthday, sweetheart! I am thankful for you, and am so blessed that I was able to spend it with you today.



Three-and-a-half years old. I cannot believe it has been that long since the day you were born, and at the same time it feels as if you have been in my life forever. You are truly a blessing to me, Adessa.
