Saturday night with the Richters

You took a great nap after our day at the beach -- and hey, I'll admit, so did I. Something about being out in the sun really takes it out of you, doesn't it. By late afternoon, we were ready and recharged to head out again. So we went back toward Excelsior and into Shorewood to pick up a present for Mommy at The Truffle House chocolate shop. You wanted to get the solid-chocolate hockey puck you're holding here... not sure if you wanted to eat it or just play with it. Probably both!

We stopped at Adele's near Downtown Excelsior to split an ice cream on our way back and as we were leaving my phone rang -- it was Mrs. Franny checking in on us. Turns out we'd just missed her and Mr. Bob at Adele's. She was back at their house making a wonderful dinner for us to all enjoy together. It was a beautiful evening so we had dinner on their vast backyard deck.

Mrs. Franny had a great idea after dinner -- why not head over to the park near their house? She thought you'd enjoy the swings, slides, monkey bars, etc. and she was right on.

You enjoyed giving Mrs. Franny a push on one of those swinging toadstools.

These days, I can hardly push you fast enough or swing you high enough. You are so brave. When I push you on the swing, I'll give a big push and ask, "Are you OK? Is that too high?"

"No, Daddy! Push me higher!"

"OK -- still not scared?"

"No, Daddy, higher!"

Mrs. Franny was duly impressed!

Daddy
