Marshmallow and Weenie Roast

For months you have been fascinated with the idea of roasting marshmallows over a fire. So one of our favorite things to do was a pretend marshmallow roast... marshmallow on a stick over a make-believe fire. Fun, but there's nothing like the real thing. Tonight, for the first time, we got to do the real thing!


It is still winter here in Iowa, but we got one more warm evening before a snowstorm blew in later tonight. Thank goodness. I asked what you wanted to start with: weenies or marshmallows. "Marshmallows!" was your immediate reply.


Marshmallow roast = sticky fingers.


Why does everything taste better when it's burned over an open fire outdoors?


Of course we brought the graham crackers and chocolate bars for s'mores.


Just like the Girl Scouts drew it up.
