Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Today's a special day, Adessa... Mommy's birthday! I don't believe there's anything in this world that gets you quite so excited as the prospect of a birthday party and for the past couple weeks we've been preparing for Mommy's birthday by readying some gifts for her.

One of those gifts is a great big ceramic coffee cup -- hand painted by you:

For years I thought about the day you'd be old enough to do a project at Color Me Mine, the store at Canyon Crest Towne Center where people can decorate plaques, statues, dishes, etc. and then have them fired in a kiln for posterity. Turns out that day was just after you turned three years old. And what better project than to make something special for Mommy for her birthday that she'll always remember?

Together with your hand-painted cup we put together a basket including a pumpkin/cinnamon candle, flowers, a birthday cake ("chocolate," you insisted), a card from Bella "signed" with a paw print, a card from you featuring a drawing of Mommy you made, and a couple of gift cards to Starbucks and Panera.

Adessa, I have no doubt Mommy will be delighted with her birthday gifts -- especially because you helped with them. I'm proud that you're so excited for Mommy's special day. You love her very much.

Daddy
