Bat and Ball
Adessa, the other day we played a little bit of what you like to call "Bat and Ball." Daddy tried to gently suggest "Baseball," but you insisted on "Bat and Ball." So "Bat and Ball" it is.
"Now batting, number 2-and-a-half, centerfielder Adessa Landers Brinkman."
Setting the ball up on the tee.
Giving the ball a good whack... and running like a rabbit.
You don't even need the tee -- you let Daddy pitch to you and you hit the ball in the air quite well.
Switch-hitter! You did great from both the left and right sides of the plate.
Adessa, it is always wonderful to play anything with you... "Bat and Ball" is especially fun as that was my favorite sport growing up. I was just a few years older than you when I joined my first Little League team... and I hope you might have a chance to do the same thing someday. Love you, Addie.
